War Horse, A Place Of Peace To Be Together
Featherstone lost 353 people during the first world war and a new memorial sculpture has been made for the Mill Pond Nature Reserve after the Town Council secured a WREN grant. The two-tonne sculpture entitled "War Horse, A Place Of Peace To Be Together" was revealed on Friday 11th May and our Year 6 children were privileged to attend the event.
Remembrance
Beneath are the children and staff of St Thomas' remembering those who have given their lives for our country in war.
Year 6 worked with an art company named 'CodSteaks' to create a war horse memorial which is now located and displayed in the annex building. A range of images can be seen below. Please visit the Year 6 class page for the finished photo of the horse.
